SITUATION
Ford was preparing to launch the Mustang Mach-E, its first electric vehicle, and needed a digital instrument cluster that could communicate everything from range and regenerative braking to standard cluster information in a new, EV-native way.
TASK
Present dozens of concept directions to Ford reflecting this new era of electrification, narrowing down to a single concept to build on.
ACTION
Managed a global team of UX, UI, 3D, and motion designers to realize the vision, presenting refined concepts to Ford design stakeholders twice a week.
RESULTS
The concept was approved and carried forward as the foundation for the instrument cluster that shipped in the production Mach-E. It survived a multi-month project pause during a Ford leadership transition and became v1 of the shipped design.
